NSF ITR Project

This project focuses on dimension reduction and storage/retrieval methodologies for combustion chemistry; and LES/FDF/ISAT simulation of turbulent combustion.

This reseach is supported by the National Science Foundation through grant CTS-0426787.

Computational Combustion Modules

These modules use Chemkin IV (for laminar flames) and Fluent (for turbulent flames). They provide instruction in the use of the software and also provide insights into the physics and chemistry involved. The focus is on: the thermochemistry and kinetics of ideal gas mixtures; laminar premixed and nonpremixed flames; and turbulent non-premixed flames. These modules may be used by instructors in similar courses, or by students for independent study.
